What clubs most often want to know before they start, answered briefly.
What does Boule-Boy cost?
One licence covers the whole club. You do not pay per person. There are four plans: Free for €0, Basic for €6.90 a month or €49 a year, Complete for €12.90 a month or €89 a year and Boule-Boy-VIP for €20.90 a month or €149 a year. The prices include VAT and apply to the introductory phase. All the details are on the pricing page.
Are the helper rota, club events and challenges finished yet?
Not quite. The three add-on modules are currently In development. They are already visible in the app, but what they can do may still change. Running tournaments itself is not affected. More about the add-on modules.
Can we start for free?
Yes. You set up the Free plan with no contract and no payment details. It covers two tournaments a year with up to 16 teams or participants; PDF export and the add-on modules are unlocked for the first 30 days. The add-on modules (helper rota, club events, challenges) are currently still in development. Create your club now.
How do we book a plan?
On the subscription page with the same login details as in the app. Anyone who is an administrator of the club can book. With annual payment, the first 12 months are binding; monthly payment can be cancelled month by month.
Does Boule-Boy work without internet?
Yes. The whole tournament day runs offline: registering, drawing, assigning lanes, entering results. The scoreboard on a second monitor or projector keeps showing the current state too. Even the live view is served by the tournament computer itself on your own Wi-Fi; only those watching from home need the internet. As soon as the network is back, all devices sync by themselves.
Do all players have to install the app?
No. Players and spectators follow pairings, results and standings in the live view in the browser, with no app and no account. Online registration and reporting results work there as well.
Which devices does Boule-Boy run on?
Windows is the tournament desk’s workstation, with the scoreboard on a second screen and printing of certificates and lists. The Android app runs on phones and tablets and, as an APK, on Fire TV and Android smart TVs, where it shows the scoreboard. On LG or Samsung TVs the scoreboard runs in the browser via www.bouleboy.de/tafel. In the browser it works without installing anything, on iPhone, iPad and Mac too. Dedicated apps for iOS and macOS are planned.
Which tournament systems are supported?
Eleven: league, Swiss system, knockout, double knockout, poule, poule with cadrage, Formule X, Mêlée suisse, Ostbayerisch, Maastricht and Nunkirchner, with fixed teams (formée). On top of that there is supermêlée, where teams are formed afresh every round: as a random mix, as Mêlée suisse or with Formule X. For the season there are also club championship, row pyramid, Bag-Tag and tournament series. Read more under tournament systems.
Where is our data stored?
On cloud servers in Europe, transmitted in encrypted form and processed in line with the GDPR. Data is not sold. Every player can decide what is visible to the public. Details are in the privacy policy.
Can an association equip several clubs?
Yes. For associations, the Complete plan is available as a group licence: one agreement for all member clubs, and the more clubs take part, the less each one pays. Get in touch.
